About us
Your head designer is Ian, a trained illustrator and animator with a BFA and over 10 years of experience in art and animation.
Premade covers
A premade cover is a fully designed cover we've already created — genre-researched, composed, and ready to go. When you purchase one, we apply your book title and author name exactly as you provide them, then deliver the finished files within 48 hours.
Every premade in the portfolio is available exactly once. The moment it sells, it's permanently retired. No other author will ever hold the same cover.
Every premade order includes:
| High-resolution JPG | KDP & retail-ready eBook cover |
| PNG (transparent background) | Promotional graphics & social media |
| Certificate of Commercial Rights | Confirms your ownership of the design |
Files are delivered via email within 48 hours of purchase.
We deliver premade covers within 48 hours of purchase — usually sooner.
Custom covers
| 1. Order & brief | Place your order and submit your brief — genre, tone, character, mood, references |
| 2. We get to work | We research your genre and build 2 distinct concept directions |
| 3. First delivery | Concepts arrive within 5 business days |
| 4. Revisions | You choose a direction and share feedback — we refine |
| 5. Final files | Delivered once you've approved the cover |
The more specific your brief, the closer your first concepts will be to what you're imagining. We'll ask a few targeted questions before we begin if anything is unclear.
A strong brief includes: your book title and author name exactly as they should appear, your sub-genre and tone (e.g. "dark romance, angsty and steamy"), any main character details that matter to you, three words for the mood and feel, and links to 2–3 published covers you love — in any genre.
Don't worry about being too specific. The more context you give us, the better your first draft will be.
Revisions & changes
| Product | Revision rounds |
|---|---|
| Premade eBook Cover | 1 round |
| Custom eBook Cover | 2 rounds |
| Custom eBook + Print Wrap | 2 rounds (shared) |
| Series Starter — 3 covers | 2 rounds per cover |
| Additional rounds | +$25 / round |
A detailed brief upfront is the best way to make your revision rounds count.
That's what revisions are for. If neither concept is hitting the mark, we'll ask you to walk us through what feels off — not just what you'd like to see instead. That conversation almost always unlocks the right direction.
In the rare case we're genuinely stuck after your revision rounds, we'll offer an additional concept round. We want you happy with the cover — we're not going to leave you with something that doesn't feel right.
Exclusivity & rights
Never. Every CoverSpark cover — premade or custom — is sold to exactly one author. The moment you purchase a premade, it's removed from the portfolio permanently. For custom covers, the design is built specifically for your book and never reused or resold.
This is a genuine difference from stock-image designers, who regularly reuse the same photo across multiple covers. Your cover is yours alone.
Yes — full commercial rights transfer to you on purchase. You can use your cover on your book, across retail platforms (KDP, IngramSpark, etc.), in your marketing, and on social media.
Every order includes a Certificate of Commercial Rights — a personalised document confirming your ownership of the design, sent with every delivery alongside your JPG and PNG files.
In addition to traditional digital design software, CoverSpark uses advanced generative design tools as part of the creative process, in the same way a modern photographer uses editing software or an illustrator uses a digital canvas. The tool doesn't make the creative decisions; we do. Every cover is the result of genre research, compositional thinking, typography choices, and refinement — not a one-click output.
Your commercial rights are not affected. The platform we use does not claim ownership of outputs and does not restrict commercial use. Your Certificate of Commercial Rights documents this clearly.
If you have specific questions about copyright registration or platform compatibility, reach out before ordering — we're happy to talk it through.
No — your purchase includes full commercial use with no additional or extended licenses required. You're free to sell unlimited physical copies of your book, use the design on commercial merchandise, apply it across branding and marketing content, and adapt it however your project needs. There are no royalties, no copy caps, and no separate licensing fees.

If you're a first-time client open to leaving a testimonial, get in touch — we occasionally have an early-adopter arrangement worth knowing about.
For premade covers: because the cover is retired from the portfolio on purchase and personalised with your title and name, we're unable to offer refunds once work has begun. If there's an issue with the files or something we've got wrong, reach out and we'll make it right.
For custom covers: if we're genuinely unable to deliver a cover you're satisfied with after your revision rounds, contact us and we'll discuss a partial credit or refund. We'd rather solve the problem than leave you with a cover you can't use.
